Civil Law & Litigation
I advise and represent clients in matters involving contracts, obligations, property rights, liability, and disputes between individuals or businesses.
My work includes examining claims and defenses, drafting and reviewing agreements, negotiating settlements, and representing clients before the courts. Litigation is not always the best solution; depending on the circumstances, an agreement may offer a more reasonable path when time, cost, and uncertainty are considered.
Constitutional Law & Amparo
I provide advice and representation in constitutional proceedings, particularly the Mexican juicio de amparo.
This includes examining acts of public authorities, judicial decisions, possible violations of constitutional rights, and available remedies. Before recommending an amparo, I consider both the constitutional issues and the procedural requirements that determine whether it is available.
Commercial & Business Law
I assist individuals and businesses with commercial contracts, contractual obligations, payment disputes, and the enforcement or defense of commercial rights.
Depending on the matter, I may prepare or review agreements, examine obligations, negotiate with other parties, or represent clients in commercial litigation. Corporate, tax, labor, or regulatory issues may require collaboration with other professionals.
Real Estate & Property Law
I advise on the acquisition, sale, ownership, and transfer of real property in Mexico, and represent clients in property disputes.
My work may include reviewing purchase agreements, ownership documents, public registry information, and encumbrances, and coordinating with Mexican notaries and other institutions. I also address disputes involving ownership, possession, contractual obligations, and property rights.
Approach to Legal Practice
My approach begins with an examination of the facts, relevant documents, and applicable law. I distinguish between what is established, what may reasonably be inferred, and what still needs to be confirmed.
The goal is not only to determine whether a claim or remedy is available, but whether pursuing it makes sense. Depending on the matter, the appropriate response may involve negotiation, an agreement, further investigation, or judicial proceedings.
Clients should understand the reasons for a recommendation, the principal uncertainties, and the potential consequences of their decisions.
Collaboration With Other Attorneys
Some matters require experience outside my principal areas of practice. When appropriate, I may collaborate with independent attorneys in the relevant field. Their participation, responsibilities, and any additional fees are discussed with the client beforehand.

International Clients
I assist clients outside Mexico with Mexican property, contracts, inheritance, and judicial proceedings. I explain Mexican institutions and procedures, including those involving notaries, fiduciary banks, and public registries.
Initial consultations may be remote. Some procedures may require personal attendance, formal representation, or additional documents. My advice concerns Mexican law; matters involving another country may require an attorney qualified there.
About Luis Alfonso Navarrete Aldaco
He is a Mexican attorney with an independent legal practice in Sonora. He received his law degree from the University of Sonora, earned an LL.M. from the University of Minnesota, and completed diploma studies in Constitutional Law at the Complutense University of Madrid.
His background includes service as a law clerk at the Supreme Court of Justice of the State of Sonora and private legal practice. He founded and directed the University of Sonora Law School's law journal. His academic work has appeared in the Mexican Law Review and Problema. Anuario de Filosofía y Teoría del Derecho, published by UNAM. He served as Chief Officer of the Human Rights Commission of the State of Sonora between 2024 and 2026.
